First time show for me.|
I've been hearing about the HOT (Heart Of Texas) rally for a few years now and figured I'd pop over and check it out. Wasn't a bad little party at all, I had a good time.
Two shows a year, a huge March rally and a smaller fall Halloween party, which they call their ''Howl O Ween'' biker bash. On private property, 21 or better to get in... My kind of show.
Pretty good rally, the weather was great, the bands were pretty good, Saturday afternoon biker rodeo games were very cool. On top of the regular old games they also had the women's carburator toss and the dirt drags (complete with a couple of wipe outs!). A bike show, loud pipes contest, burn out contest and tattoo contest pretty well rounded out the games.
Unlike most shows the HOT rally also helps raise money for the TMRA2 (Texas Motorcycle Rights Association II), which is kind of like ABATE except they don't seem to limit their agenda to simply repealing helmet laws in their State. Look up TMRA 2 online for more info, if I lived in Texas I'd certainly join up.
I went, I saw, I had a good time. They've got their main show coming up early March next year on Texas Independance day. Check out their web site for more info, I've heard it's one hellova bash so I'll make sure and boogie down to cover it next spring.
Bob rates a pretty good 7/10 score
