Really good show!|
Another great old school bike rally, with all the trimmings. Located at the world famous Bill Monroe music park in Bean Blossom Indiana, this place oozes history. Not just blue grass kind, but biker also.
New for this year they've re-opened the 1/8 mile drag strip adjacent to the camprounds. It's ''run what you brung'', all comers welcome. Just pass a safety check, sign your life away and peel some rubber down the track. Great way to safely see what your scooter can really do, without the $1,800 ticket I usually get along with every new bike.
Very nice main stage, with lots of great bands. And a small secondary stage in the pool hall, right off vendor row. There's always something going on, the show is very well organized; no dead time leaving people just hanging around with nothing to do. And the Saturday night ''Hoosier Honey'' contest is nothing less than... legendary.
You can't write something about Bean Blossom biker fest without mentioning their bike show, it's top of the line and as good as it gets. The trophies are all custom made from old bike parts (by Kalamazoo Choppers), and their guest judges are the Editors from Easyriders and Biker magazines. Very cool, and very old school.
For some reason or other I missed this show last year, and I'm kicking myself for it now. It's one great party and I highly recomend it, it's definately one to put on your ''to go to'' list next September 8-11th, 2011.
Bob rates this party an excellent 9/10 score!
