Golf carts and Four Wheelers permitted. No glass containers. ADULTS ONLY CONTESTS : Saturday night wet tee shirt contest, men's wet boxer shorts contest (also on Saturday night). Southern Thunder is ABATE TN's yearly rally It's kind of hard to describe this show. Old school'ish and laid back combined with rv's and weekend riders? It's not one of those slick rallies with a non stop slamming schedule, nor is it old school. A little bit of everything is probably pretty acurate to describe it. A beautifull camp ground, complete with a large shaded area for tent camping with a cold TN mountain stream that runs right by it. And yes, swimming is allowed. Free hot showers, indoor toilets and porta potties, a small covered stage and shaded vendor strip pretty well cover it. This is ABATE TN's yearly party, and memberships are available at the front gate at a discounted $20 per year. RV's welcomed, no hookups just park'em in the empty field. Some rocking bands packed out the weekend, most notably Tonya Watts. She's a babe (she used to double for Pamela Anderson) and has now reinvented herself as a high energy country singer. At first I was skeptical, but this little firecracker can really sing and puts on a great high energy country show. I'm sure I'll be seeing her around a whole lot more at future shows, somebody this talented (and hot) is sure to start tearing up the rally circuit. The rest of the party wasn't too bad, although it could have been better organised. The Saturday night adults only contests were just sort of quickie free for all's in front of the stage. I've been going to this show for the last few years, and it's more or less the same. A smallish rally, easygoing with some decent to good bands in a great location. Check it out sometime, you might like it. Bob rates this party a 6/10
