Motorcycles, Metal and Mayhem. Bag Lady Sue's first ever bike rally

Good location, up at the Westmoreland county fairgrounds... way out in the back of beyond, about 30 miles or so outside of Pittsburg, PA. Very secluded, huge bandstands, lot's of RV parking & primitive camping space.

This was the Bag Ladies first time ever show... she's played plenty of them but this was her initiation into organising an event. You could tell because very few other people would book such a large variety of class acts just hoping for a good turnout.

You should have seen this show. You like comedy? Bag Lady Sue, Caroline Picard and the Scally Wags, a bunch of drunken pirates just looking for a good time. Motorcycle thrill shows? The American Motordrome wall of death and Circus Una tightrope acrobat were out there doing their thing.

The bands were fucking kicking, and better than most shows I've been to that regularly draw crowds 20,000 strong! The Kentucky Headhunters, Rebel Son, Big House Pete and Jasmine Cain are all top notch acts and great rocking entertainment. And they had them all. And to top it off the entire show was going to be a benefit for the troops overseas. The even had a fly-by and a couple of army vehicules out there from the PA national guard.

I'm sure the turnout was a little dissapointing for the Bags, booking that many class acts had to have cost her the shirt off her back and I seriously doubt she even came close to breaking even... but bang for your buck it was one of the most entertaining show's I've been to. Ever. At least a thousand or so REAL party people showed up, and everyone got front row seats to all the events.

I spoke with Sue on the phone today, asking her if she's doing it again. And the answer is yes! She's got some kind of secret plan with a well connected show promoter who's willing to help her out next year, and she promises it will be back bigger & better than ever. I had a pretty damn good time at this one and wish her the best of luck. If she does it again I will certainly be there again next summer.

Bob rates this party a 7/10 beer cans. Not real wild, but great entertainment.
