2008 Hawg Holler fall party - first time party|
Bob rates this rally a 7/10 beer cans
I've been hearing about this party for the last couple of years. It ended up being a pretty good little rally out in the backend of TN.
Very nice campgrounds, lots of shaded camping areas and plenty of open RV space all on private property. Pretty typical biker party formula with an early morning poker run, biker games in the afternoon with a band or two and a few contests in the evening.
They've got a full time DJ (whiskers) to keep the party going, and some of the most extensive field events I've seen in a long time, games included the weenie bite, plank roll, keg toss, barell roll and of course my personal favorite, the women's topless bouncy ball race! The bike show was extensive. Probably had something like a hundred bikes or so in it, not bad for a rally with 2,000 people.
I have to take a minute to tell ya'll about Tarzan'a haircuit. He's a retired airborne ranger, in his early forties and decided he wanted to re-enlist. After pulling some strings, they agreed to take him back if he could pass the physical entrance. So 200,000 pushups later Tarzan's once again airbone! Reporting for training two days after the rally, he decided to cut his hair at the party and donate it to ''lock's of love'', them people that make wigs for cancer patients.
Kickin' ass, serving your country and helping others all at the same time... it's the Airborne way. Tarzan, we salute you and wish you the best of luck buddy. Taliban's, ya'll got about 8 weeks to surrender before he gets there. You've been warned!
All in all it was a pretty good little party. A few more motorcycles and tent campers than usual, lot's of contests, some great biker games and a good bike show make this a 7/10 on my list. And gets this rally on my ''to go to'' list again for next year and definately worth the ride. They've got both a spring & fall event every year, check their web site below for future dates.
